Epidemic in Stolen Dogs – Mostly the small breeds

In our daily work at Lostpetfinder.net, we are seeing many “lost dogs” with no explanation as to their disappearance other than theft. Just plain “bold in the light of day” stolen dogs. When pet owners walk their dog in public or carry their dog to shop, you must be aware that some want to know where you live, or even follow you home, anticipating a time to steal your dog when put out in the yard.

According to the below noted article, “The American Kennel Club tracks dog thefts in the United States. It reports a 49 percent increase from 2010 to 2011, mostly small-breed dogs, including Pomeranians and Yorkies.”

http://www.myfoxtampabay.com//dpp/news/local/polk/more-thieves-target-tiny-dogs-02092012

This article reports small breeds such as Scooter in this article that come with a price tag from $700 to $1,500.

Lostpetfinder.net has a stolen dog research division which uses our specialized internet search software to investigate various possible dispositions a stolen pet may experience immediately after the theft and to include months following, i.e. , breeding which provides puppies for sale.

You’ve got to love the Bugger – WSJ says its Expensive!!

According to todays WSJ, 11-2-2011, the average cost for Vet services is $655/year.

Pet owners are feeling sticker shock at the vet. The average household in the U.S. spent $655 on routine doctor and surgical visits for dogs last year, up 47% from a decade ago, according to the American Pet Products Association. Expenditures for cats soared 73% over the same time frame—on pace with human health-care cost increases. Expenditures for people in the U.S. were up 76.7% between 1999 and 2009, according to the U. S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

So read the article and learn somethings you can do to control this.

Lost Cat, reunited with owners -TODAY show

Unbelievable!! 1600 miles and 5 years later, this cat was identified by a chip inserted into the cat as a kitty.

Perhaps, a neighborhood search 5 years earlier via our automated voice messaging pet search could have helped, or abridge the process. We can find any pet, with or without a chip, but once found, the pet can have the chip scanned which identifies the pet at a vet or shelter who has the chip scanning device.

Read the article and enjoy the story!!!

Such faithfulness of a loving dog who lost his master

Losing a pet can be very difficult, but hope reigns that it will be found But we don’t often think about a pet who has lost his master. A lost pet wants to be reunited with its owner just as badly.

Evidence this weeks story about a pet who has permanently lost his master. With the downing of an Army helicopter in Afghanistan where 31 men were lost, we witness a Navy Seal’s lab staying close to his master, even throughout the funeral.

So know that your lost pet wants to reunite with you as much as you do with it.
